Born in California on a Navy base, Ricardo Parker, also known as Ricardo P claims, that music has always been a part of him. Having a rough life growing up, it was easy for Ricardo to channel inspiration from those experiences as he’s been writing and putting verses together since the age of 12. He explains how he’s always been intrigued with the many ways you can express yourself and tell a story through music. He takes inspiration from many artists including LL Cool J, Rick Ross, and Jay Z.
The experiences and hardships in Ricardo’s life have shaped him into the person he is today. Through his music, you can takeaway a lot of Ricardo’s personal journey as he explains the hood life mentality and being able to escape it. He also wants people to have a better understanding of who he is, and that anything you want in life is attainable with hard work and determination.
Ricardo P has worked hard to get where he is and has opened for artists like Trey Songz and Nas. He has also worked firsthand with several different producers, notably Grammy winning producer Dem Jointz. His videos have also appeared on MTV jams as well as having a few placements on some TV shows.
His single “Clean” was released in July as well as “No Reason”, both are off the charts. He is now currently working on an EP which is set to be released soon. This is exciting news for Ricardo P as he is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
