Wesley Bailey, also commonly known as Rapper Ydd is an independent artist and author from Mount Dora Florida. His lifestyle and upbringing directly influence his music and novels as he expresses his experiences through his craft. Behind bars is where Rapper Ydd decided to pursue his dream on becoming an artist and author. There, he wrote his first urban novel, “Slumpville”, which talks about his experiences in the drug trade, the high life, and the destructive and fatal consequences that follow. He also wrote “Slumpville 2”— which both are now two of the most highly coveted book series in the prison system.
Regarding music, Rapper Ydd had growing up listening to different kinds of music all his life. Through his mom, he realized the power of music and how it can completely alter peoples emotional and mental state. It was around 3 years ago where he started to take music seriously while recording in studios with professionals. Versatilely is something Rapper Ydd is known for; he’s able to have something for everyone. “Being from the south, I’m not set on one type of rap or stuck on beats you may think should be for hip hop. As an artist, people love my pen and that my voice is unique”.
His newest release coming out is “Down in Florida” which features Kodak Black’s brother John Wicks. “Down in Florida” single will be also on the “Down in Florida” EP which date will soon be announced. Meanwhile, his album “Back in Trouble” is still streaming on all platforms.
