Growing up in a very big musical household, music as well as family have always been a huge part of HighLee’s life. Being one of seven siblings, him and all his siblings are musically inclined because of the influence his gifted mother had on the family. Writing music has always been therapeutic for Mansa, but as he got older, he realized his love for music was his passion.
After getting recognized by legendary artists for his lyrics as well as countless of DMs from supporters across the globe, Mansa then got the upmost motivation and confidence to continue forward on his musical journey and now spends countless of hours perfecting his craft. He explains how being vulnerable as an artist is challenging— knowing that not everyone is going to like you or be on your side. But trusting in your art and vision is the key and know that even if something connects with just one person, you’ve done your job.
He emphasizes how he wants listeners to really engage and connect in the narratives of his songs which he portrays with every verse. “The new music I have coming out honestly consists of different vibes, real chilled vibes that’ll make you want to take a ride with the top down, some vibes that will make you want to light one up or sip on something, and some club type vibes as well. If you’ve been listening to my music so far you know how I’m coming with it, all meaningful and you’re going to hear the punches, but if you haven’t that’s cool too, just ride with me. I got you”.
Stay tuned for more music coming from HighLee as well as a new album being released.
